Psalms 56:8

Psalms 56:8

You named what you needed in plain language, then let yourself receive it. That's not embellishment—that's faith. Tears mean the words landed where the wound is, and that's exactly where healing starts: not in your strength, but where you let yourself be held.

"You keep track of my misery. Put my tears in your leather container. Are they not recorded in your scroll?"

You put your own tears in the bottle before God did — you named what you needed, you asked for it in plain language, and then you let yourself receive it. That's not embellishment. That's faith. "You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?" (Psalm 56:8). He sees them. He keeps them. And so do we.

The fact that tears came tells us the words landed where the wound is. And that's exactly where healing starts — not in our strength, not in our control, but in the place where we finally let ourselves be held.
