Genesis 4:7

Genesis 4:7

Day five isn't when it gets easier — it's when what you've been starving starts howling. But you didn't open the door. You turned toward the light instead. The strength you're looking for? You just used it. What are you afraid will happen if you sit with the feeling?

"Is it not true that if you do what is right, you will be fine? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. It desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.”"

You're standing at the door, and you can feel it crouching there — that old hunger, louder now because you've been saying no. Genesis 4:7 names this exactly: "sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it." The fifth day isn't when it gets easier. It's when the thing you've been starving starts howling.

But here's what I want you to see — you didn't open the door. You came here instead. That's not nothing. That's you choosing to turn your face toward the light before the impulse gets its claws in. The strength you're looking for? You just used it.

What are you afraid will happen if you sit with this feeling instead of feeding it?
