A Prayer for Wisdom and a Steady Heart

O Lord, you are great and sovereign over all—keeper of the sky and the earth, and keeper of us. We adore you for the shelter you have been, for the provision that met us before we even thought to ask. You have cared for us in ways we did not anticipate, and your faithfulness has never failed.

Forgive us for the impatience that pulled us ahead of your pace. We confess the moments we rushed what you meant to be slow, the times we strained against your timing because we could not see the full picture. We do not hide these failings, but lay them down before you, asking for your mercy and a renewed willingness to trust your rhythm over our own urgency.

We are deeply grateful that your wisdom showed up in the work set before us. When deadlines pressed close and understanding seemed distant, clarity came. We recognize that gift as yours. You met us in our need and gave us what we could not generate on our own. Thank you for being present in the details of our days.

And now, with hands open, we commit what is still ahead to you. The schoolwork not yet finished, the days not yet steadied, the needs we cannot yet name—we place these before your throne. We choose to trust that you who have kept us and provided for us will continue to act on our behalf. You are faithful. You are wise. You see what we cannot see and know what we do not yet know.

Help us to wait with open hands rather than clenched fists. Teach us patience. Strengthen our faith in your provision. And as we move forward, remind us that you are sovereign, that you are good, and that we are safe in your keeping.
